In order to refine the wind modeling for our wind energy project Konikablo in Ghana, additional wind measurements will be taken up with the installation of two 125 m high met masts on the project site in the coming months.

After having evaluated the local wind conditions for this project already for several years now with a 60 m high met mast, we have decided together with our project partner for this wind farm, the wind turbine manufacturer Enercon GmbH, to collect additional measurement data. For this purpose, we have shipped two new measuring systems consisting of two lattice towers, each 125 m high, to Tema, where the material has recently arrived.

Our engineers, together with a specialized installation team from Europe, will now erect the two masts over the coming weeks and start the measurements. As a result, we hope to obtain meaningful data almost at the hub height of the planned wind turbines, which is currently 131 m.

Whether additional Lidar measurements will be carried out will be defined at a later stage in the measurement campaign.

The 200 MW Konikablo wind project is already being developed by us for several years now and has reached an advanced planning stage in terms of permitting. In September 2018, we concluded an investment agreement with the German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon GmbH, according to which this company is responsible for the delivery of the turbines, the implementation of the project and later also for its operation.
