Start of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Togbloku wind farm project in Ghana with the Submission of the Scoping Report

NEK and its partners have prepared the first part to receive the Environmental Permit of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Ghana for the Togbloku Wind Farm. This process was initiated by the submission of the Scoping Report, while all of the other Wind Farms of NEK in Ghana already have received the EPA approval.

The Scoping Report gives an overview of the planned Environmental Impact Assessment which is currently under development. Different topics of environmental and social assessments are part of the ongoing process, including among other things community engagement, a baseline biodiversity assessment and studies related to noise emissions and shadow flickering. This is done to identify different impacts in the pre-construction phase, the construction phase, the operation and maintenance phase and the decommission phase.

On 22nd September 2022, the scoping notice was published in the Daily Graphic, a Ghanaian Newspaper, with national coverage.
